Today, I’m excited to share that American Express Ventures, the strategic investment group of American Express, is officially an investor in DataGrail, joining our other investors (Okta Ventures, Basis Set Ventures, and Cloud Apps Capital Partners). This investment positions us to accelerate growth and invest in products to support our expanding roster of customers.
In the past year, DataGrail has grown from three founders to more than 25 employees, and now supports dozens of customers on our platform. We’ve integrated with more than 150 different systems to streamline privacy management and partnered with one of the leading identity management companies, Okta, to make it easier for our mutual customers to manage privacy and identity together.
In the age of privacy, providing trust is more important than ever before. Today’s consumers expect a new level of transparency, and our aim is to support organizations to deliver on their promise of trust. The primary obstacle facing most modern companies is that they aren’t equipped to provide privacy. Typical businesses use over 100 business systems — many of which contain personal data — creating a challenge to map where data lives in an organization. That’s where we come in.
The DataGrail Platform helps businesses operationalize and automate privacy management, including accessing and deleting personal data. Our pre-built connectors with companies, such as Salesforce, Adobe, Oracle, and AWS, enable businesses to discover and map personal data within seconds — not weeks or months.
We’re proud and honored to have American Express Ventures as an investor. Dana Eli-Lorch, Managing Director at Amex Ventures said, “DataGrail’s technology enables businesses to efficiently access or delete data on demand for their customers, helping them respond to evolving privacy and compliance expectations. We’re pleased to support DataGrail’s next stage of growth.”
