Sammi Reinstein, August 7, 2024

July 2024 brought a new AI Risk Assessment template, enhanced machine learning models for system detection and data discovery, a new website compliance inspector, and a fresh look for the DataGrail platform.

Welcome to DataGrail’s monthly release notes! July brought a wave of product innovations like Privacy Inspector, which assists DataGrail Consent customers in rapidly understanding their website compliance, an AI Risk Assessment template to help Risk Monitor customers assess the AI risk in their systems and comply with new regulations, further security enhancements for Responsible Data Discovery, and much more.

Plus, if you’ve logged in to our platform recently, you might have noticed a brand new look. 👀 In July, we rolled out a fresh new product UI to match our latest brand updates—including a new color palette and type stack.

Let’s dive into all the product releases. 🌊

New look, same commitment to data privacy 🎨

We’re thrilled to release a brand new look in our DataGrail application. This was a part of our larger brand refresh, inspired by our commitment to safeguarding the human right to privacy.

We’ve carefully crafted this update to reflect our evolving vision and commitment to simplicity. The in-app UI update includes a new color palette and type stack, and the primary palette highlights our latest brand direction.

Identify and manage the AI risk in your third-party vendors with our AI Risk Assessment Template in Risk Monitor

The AI regulatory landscape is changing fast. The EU AI Act became law on July 12th and will take effect this August, setting global AI standards.

To help you innovate with confidence and also comply with new and upcoming AI regulations, DataGrail now has an AI Risk Assessment template in Risk Monitor. Customers can utilize this default AI template to be prepared for the changing regulatory landscape, assess the usage of AI tools across their organization, and ensure compliance.

Rapidly understand your website compliance posture with Privacy Inspector

If you’re like most organizations, it can be difficult to understand your compliance posture, specifically when configuring a consent management platform. Often, privacy and marketing teams struggle to identify if trackers are firing that shouldn’t, which could result in accidentally losing trust with customers and leaving them in a compliance gap.

We’re proud to introduce Privacy Inspector, a new companion tool for DataGrail Consent customers. Now you can verify your setup by scanning your site in real-time for any trackers that may not be respecting visitors’ consent preferences and pose a compliance risk. This helps you take action fast and provide an experience that builds trust with your brand.

Manage Custom Services with DataGrail Consent

Customers may have inline scripts embedded in their site that are used for tracking, and should be managed by their consent tool to ensure compliance.

DataGrail Consent offers a single view of all trackers—from those synced from Google Tag Manager to those embedded within your site. Users can create custom services and classify them within DataGrail, which creates a unique ID that is easy for a developer to embed within your site’s code.

Page refresh for consent choice changes

Customers want to ensure their page view analytics are as accurate as possible while also respecting and preserving their user’s right to privacy.

DataGrail Consent now ensures a page only reloads when consent preferences change, which is an important measure to protect consumer privacy rights and saving and handling their preferences correctly.

Even more security for data discovery and fulfilling privacy requests in your internal systems with Key Pair Authentication

Data in your internal systems are some of the most sensitive, dynamic, and critical data for your organization. Our Responsible Data Discovery and Request Manager agents are built with security in mind and create as small of a footprint as possible for exposure.

With this update, customers can now utilize Key Pair Authentication, which offers even more security, and follows Snowflake’s recommendation in the wake of their security breach.

Re-invite contributors to Risk Monitor Assessments

Previously, once a contributor completed their responses in a Risk Monitor assessment they weren’t able to make additional changes. We heard from customers they wanted the ability to go back and edit responses, and the product team made it happen.

With this update, customers can re-invite a contributor to adjust their responses to an assessment by clicking on “Request Additional Contributions.”

Machine Learning Model enhancements for Responsible Data Discovery and System Detection

  • Machine Learning Model Enhancements: Our machine learning model for Responsible Data Discovery has been enhanced, which will provide customers higher accuracy of predictions and faster results.
  • System Detection Enhancements: Our system detection machine learning model has been enhanced, enabling customers to detect more systems that are high confidence matches. The machine learning model will now auto-promote 99% confidence matches for detected systems, giving customers a better understanding of all their data platforms and SaaS solutions.

Manage custom content in the Privacy Request Center

Now, customers can manage content and changes for all policies, individual policies, and privacy rights in the Privacy Request Center on their own. This allows for self-serving content changes and publishing the changes of your intake form.

Customers can also decide whether content is displayed to their entire user base or if custom content is delivered by policy (location).

New and updated integrations

We’ve added new third-party integrations that can be utilized for automating privacy requests and doing data discovery across your systems and applications.

New Request Manager integrations added for DSR processing:

Updated Integrations:

  • Gong: Customers can now configure ticket status behavior when deleting first-party users
  • Service Now: Responsible Data Discovery Test Connections now update to return errors for incorrect scopes

Understand the status of an integration

Integrations don’t always process data immediately. Last month, we rolled out additional messaging to help customers understand the status of an integration, relaying statuses or messages from third-party applications. We’ve now added this additional integration messaging for five more popular integrations including Centercode, Chargebee, Heap, Qualtrics, and Simon Data.

That’s a wrap on July’s release notes! We love customer feedback and are always looking to improve the DataGrail platform. You can give our team feedback anytime in-app under ‘product feedback’ in the side navigation.
